Drum and bass that goes into rawstyle, all in octophonic surround sound.

I had a make a custom surround sound panner in Bitwig, because it doesn’t have surround support natively, so I made it myself instead. It took me maybe an hour or two to get the sytem finetuned with some different mapping modes in the busses.

The piece is called RAW because it both during and after the process of creating it, I couldn’t find a name that i liked more, the piece just feels unrefined (in a good way) and in your face. There’s some parts that are noticably a switch from whatever section came before, unapologetically brutish was my thought process during the arrangement process, so I didn’t alot much time to trying to get it smooth, because the sheer amount of temporal/spectral masking does so much to keep the track moving, both dynamically and around you.

The project was presented in CONTACT amsterdam, and many home studio setups :), due to the restrictions in wordpress i can’t directly upload the zip and/or the tracks as they are, so i will be reverting to the classic method of a sketchy google drive link.
